DESCRIPTION:About the Event\n\n\n\nThe current Digital-First revolution has during the course of 2020 evolved from a business requirement to an absolute necessity for the survival of many industries. The global pandemic has forced a radical change in society and the way in which people work and do business. Businesses are required to transform and achieve digital maturity or run the risk of falling by the wayside. \n\n\n\nExecutives\, managers\, and practitioners are looking for practices that help them make sense of the landscape they find in organizations re-orienting themselves to deliver Digital-First products and services. This transformation requires direction and control\, and the implementation of digital standards to address business\, management\, operational and governance issues is critical to the success of a Digital-First enterprise. \n\n\n\nRe-orienting an enterprise to have a digital business model\, or creating a new digital enterprise from scratch\, requires a breadth of guidance including strategy\, business models\, operational guidance for both business and technical operations\, and topics like compliance and security. It is with pleasure to host this Conference in Malta. As I write\, the world is going through an unprecedented pandemic which has tried and tested all our previous understanding of organizational resilience. For many this has been a tragic experience\, but we should also look at it as an opportunity to rethink our paradigms in management and leadership. This is an opportunity for researchers and scholars to debate and challenge what we thought were milestone fundamentals and make us question these in a critical manner. While all decisions should be based on the available evidence\, including research evidence\, researchers should have the courage to challenge what we have taken for granted and break the barriers towards new understanding. In light of this\, one other reality emerges: the importance of working in multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams. Knowledge is complex and no one stream of expertise has a claim over the truth. Rather\, it is important for researchers from different fields of interest and expertise to come together to critically evaluate with an open mind in a collegial environment.
